The Scarcity of the Sun
It is our philosophy, is it not?
To encourage struggle, encourage darkness
To create, to lighten, to make
I think of the grayed birch trunk, disarmed
Lady Lebanon watches over her, balancing in both
Light and dark
Reminded, seated on the train
Of the sacred nature of public spaces
Carved into this slice of stars
Solace prayers made, as the traveller makes it home
We must balance this light
The sun
She is a necessity but she is also
A burning mass, out of chaos and fire
How must we continue?
As she hurls towards us,
It is the synchronicity of it all
The harmony our travels create
The scarcity of light, precious
And all we do to dance
Is be
